WE'VE MOVED!

COME CHECK OUT WHAT'S NEW RICHIE DESIGNS.COM

it's been a little busy around here lately but this fun little project I got to slide in at the end of a run.

My long time guy is graduating from his medical program this week after 5 long years. I wanted him to have a groovie calling card of sorts to hand out until he gets his official job. Vintage medical illustrations are always amazing letterpressed!

printed on Crane's #220 duplex sheet, reverse side one color information area.

A little in studio fun today:

I wanted a hangtag that I could attach to some pieces going out soon. I found this quote by Chanel recently that spoke to what I do. You really have to feel it to get the full experience but I think this photo might have captured just a tad of what I'm talking about. I think we did Ms. Chanel proud.

If you have a few minutes to watch this. It's a lovely short movie about the finest letterpress shop in America, Hatch Show Print. Anyone who prints is mostly just trying to keep up with them.

If you're wondering? my press is one of the proof presses that they have.

New over on Etsy today

Like most of the cards I make, it's really encouragement for myself. I hate change, have I told you? It's horrible and painful and I just want my world to stay comfy. Life never works like that does it?

"An ending is nothing but a beginning"

I love this one so much I want to send a card to everyone I know, but alas I'll save some for you if you'd like.

The best part? It's available on Etsy today.

We're working on a little scheme over here today. I'll wait to tell you the whole story behind it but till then...

my assistant rolled this off today and both of us nearly passed out from the beauty of it. so chunky you can nearly lay your little head down on those pillows of paper!

Karey from Mackin Ink emailed me a bit ago and asked can you turn this postcard into something letterpressed? So I took that little pattern she had done for her friend and made it into a beautiful wedding suite. Even I was surprised by all of it's amazingness.

it's hard to tell but the color was this lovely deep blueish-purple, and I pressed the main envelope so that the design was partly on the front and the back [new for me]. I haven't been this nervous about a job in a long while I might add, I dunno something about being perfect, I wanted it all perfect for her. The most surprising part? the little rsvp envelope which I made to have the little motif on the back flap - it looked like something that would come from the Royal Family. They are in the U.K. after all!

have an idea of something you want to make come to life on an invite? I love that more than words. just contact me and we can chat about it all and dream up something fantastic. richele[at]richiedesigns.com

My client Kuro Collective here in Long Beach designed this adorable baby shower invite for one of the partners who's gal is having their first child. I actually printed it both ways with the baby and dad in blue [how it was suppose to go] but I liked them in red better ;)

I do print other designers work. if you are interested please email me richele [at] richiedesigns.com for more information

I have quite a few new cards available on Etsy today. I recently purchased some vintage printer's blocks from a printer retiring after 50 years. They're super cute and quirky to say the least!

Amy and Dirk are getting hitched in beautiful San Francisco later this year. It's going to be an elegant black and white affair. We designed the save the date postcard chic and simple. The reverse side is white with black writing to give their guests hotel information in the nearby area.

The postcard was digitally printed for cost savings and the bride is planning on letterpress printing the invites that will follow. I'm excited about this chic wedding!

Pretty in Pink

I finished up a large suite this week [large for me anyway] I'm super happy with how it turned out. One color letterpress and then we used a pearl opal envelope and a sage green liner to add in a little bling. Suite included: invite, map, rsvp, personalized notecards, tented table cards, typeset mailing labels, and a program cover.

The tented table escort cards were a twist with both sides being printed. [this view is the back] The bride's idea and I'm totally digging on it. Business in the front, party in the back

It seemed to me I needed a card that could fill in the blank for many different situations. As in, Wow that's really great that you got a promotion, graduated from college, got that thing you wanted, got your car washed, finally... sort of super note

But I also had a need for a sarcastic card that could say something like this: "that's just super that your toddler flushed your grandmother's watch down the toilet to see it spin" [yes, I had a friend that happened to] or maybe..."that's just super about that whole colonoscopy thing you're having done soon". And don't forget the old, " Wow, That's Just Super that your rash cleared up". Or the everyday need of "That's just super that your boyfriend finally came out of the closet". See? there are so many applications for a card like this!

I think you need one right? Say yes and click here. Let's hope that you have more use from the first group than the second.

available in sunny yellow with grey or pool blue with grey [both available on cream or white stock]

that's just super available now $4.95
